a month in 2007…

January 30th, 2007 by moncicis

Bismillah…

Alhamdulillah…it’s been a month in 2007…

what’s my resolution?hmm..appparently, seeking for jobs are my top priority at the moment…i’m being an aggresive jobseeker that my applications in the jobstreet has exceeded 150 applications and i didnt count those resume i snail mail the company…anyone can beat that? sigh…(mestilaa ade!hehehe)

well it seems that my one and half year working experience may not be good enough to secure that dreamt position…never mind, for i owiz think on the bright side; takper, perhaps Allah nk bg yg lain yg lagik best :),..there, it made my day and pump up my energy..yeah!

then come along my greatest frens who willingly recomended me their friends or friends of friends working at such and such…people call it networking, cabels…thanks alot..may Allah bless you…Semoga Allah memberi ganjaran kat korang…aku dapat ke tak post tuh lain citer..janji kiter berusaha kan…

i have been to many interviews and i really treasure each experience of it…so far of good ones..hehehe…the bad one? nope…but perhaps some cases like; err i accidently code switch to malay when i tend to be interviewed by the malay interviewer~which was a big No No in any interviews, aite? but then again, i went to this one big company, guess what? lepak jer mamat berdua nih speaking campor2 ngn aku(mind you, these 2 fellows are the big boss in each own dept, even saw the names and the pics in the website..hehehe..)still i do jaga my tounge agar tak tersilap,hehehe..when i say big…really big laa like ade cawangan seluruh dunia tau…tak kerek pon, selamber jer–perhaps org mgkin kata, agaknya depa perangkap ko jer kot nk tgk ko fluent ke tak…tak kisah lah..janji aku tau aku perform baekkk punyer masa interviu, kan…and managed to survive, yet no rezeki yet…huhuhu :(

then, in most of the interviews, i would faced some cliche question like; u are an ENGLISH graduate…why don’t you apply for a TEACHER?—yawn (ahhh but i didnt yawn during the interrogation laa, giler ker..hehehe)—then Nana would be smilingly answered it; well i think i can/want to be more dynamic than that, bla bla bla….i’m looking for something more challenging, bla bla bla…

hmm..i’m not saying i despise teaching, but i want to venture on the other fields first before i venture into teaching…my bestfriends and buddies would surely understands my stand on this…i still remember during the uni years, we (the Gensta’ Kiut) would sit in circle (masa lepak2 kat bilik/cubicle emmy or bink) and talking, dreaming of what we gonna be after we graduated..i would say i want to experience the working in the firm-the corporate world, Emmy would say she will be a teacher, then Bink would jump and interrupt; ha’ah! aku pon, while Ayu,Jaja and Zuzu share the same thinking with me..but looking at the situation now, guess what…kelima2 geng aku tuh sumer masuk SEKOLAH(good morning teacher/s…hehehehe…)tinggal aku je kan, geng? hmmm let me win this battle first of dreaming to fight in the firm–corporate–jumbo organisation thingy for i hunger the experience of it…

teaching is a definitely YES to me, but as i oftenly said, yes if its teaching using the montessori module..hehehe..mak nak buka tadika, nyah!..yup, im thinking of taking that dip.in Montessori perhaps in few years to come…insya allah jika berkesempatan berbuat demikian…

but at the mo, its gonne be an exec for me ! :) carik duit…duit..duit… hihihihihi :))

ok..so that’s for an update…i better start sending those cover letters and resume to my future employer :) and be ready for the scheduled interviews…research…research…dig the company’s secret to success…yeahh..

wish me luck  guys :) pray for me… muchie thanks :-*

Berite gempar hari ni…dlm perjalananku ke opis pg tadi..bertembung ngn maza dlm LRT…bergossiplaa tentang kejadian rompakan yg baru jer berlaku kat umah maza jumaat lps..hmm byk juga brg yg hilang selain wang tunai…maza bercerita lagi, habis tilam dan bantal kena toreh dgn pisau..gamaknya perompak itu fikir mereka menyimpan wang kat situ…iskh ishk..

Setelah mengadakan YM conference bersama housemates (bink, ilda, umi feat. ekin, hehehe) kami mencapai kata sepakat untuk :

1-Pasang selak pintu (bkn satu…tetapi dua!) & beli mangga kunci/padlock Solex

2-Letak penyapu lidi belakang pintu (penyapu diletakkan secara menegak)

3-Letak lesung batu berisi air kat pintu ( no 2 & 3 nih abah aku praktikkan kat umah aku kat sg.Buloh)

4-Bela ikan puyu (untuk mematahkan usaha pukauan pihak lawan)

Selain drpd usaha2 di atas, ade juga cadangan mengamalkan ayat dari surah yassin tuh –>wajaalnaa mim bai ni aidihim…selain ayatul Kursi…

Aku telefon mak kat umah…bercerita…dah mak plak risau…Mak suggest (selain pasang selak pintu and mangga solex) letak periuk belanga bior bunyik bising kalo perompak2 tuh cuber utk memecah masuk ke  dalam rumah…hahahaha..lari lintang pukang laa perampok dgr kelentang kelentung piok2 tuh…

Kawan2..ade petua lain???anyone?

Why do I choose to drive a manual car over an automatic one?

November 6th, 2006 by moncicis

Observing a good friend of mine on her attitude when driving (her eZi car) makes me realize that it is much better and thankful for me to drive a manual car instead of an automatic one.

I am not ashamed to admit that I’m not that competent to drive an auto car. There were a few times when abah let me drove his auto Perdana (when we still have one- thank God that MyVi is a manual car!) and the reason abah let me take charge of the steering was that abah wanted to take a nap for that long journey. Yet his rasa mengantuk hilang and abah did not sleep, he was so worried that he kept saying; “haa…jgn lebih 90 haaa…” .But when driving Perdana, tak rasa pon kiter bawa laju..hehehehehe…

I know that when driving that eZi car, it’s a matter of pressing the pedal and not the clutch (err this is the correct spelling,eh?..hehehe) yet, for some of you who are driving auto, feel lazy not(jgn malas, haaa) to press the break pedal when necessary ya’… please consider the other passenger inside your car…I can still remember the look on Ghazaly’s face (and how he ‘kumat kamit’ probably uttering all the Doa that he knows, hehehe) when the car started moving and the incident whereby the driver had to do an emergency break…ya Allah! You are so brave to do that~ it was not a complement, but it’s rather an expression of my disbelief~ hey, how can you do that when taking into consideration that there are 2 little cutie nieces, one warga tua and the other 2 passengers, which make 6 of us in that car…huhuhuhuh (like Ghazaly said, 6 nyawa tuh babe!)…I don’t mind if it is me who is injured, but what am I going to tell my sis bout her daughter? If anything bad happen? Nauzubillah…

I don’t mind when one of my girlfriends perli-ing me when she said,” Wah…Nana..kau la orang yang terawal di dunia bagi signal biler nak masuk simpang,”..Well at least by doing that, I’m saving other driver’s time to divert their car so that they can go on with their own direction and destination rather than have to wait for my car to make that turn, aite?

And i also have one of my aunties who fully supported the i-want-to-drive-auto-car remarked, “apalah engkau, driving kereta zaman P.Ramlee”, well at least by driving the manual car, I can observe my speed, my break pedal and my focus when I’m driving…aite? And I will always remember abah’s advice ~ bawak kereta dgn ilmu, bukan dengan nafsu, biar orang nak overtake kiter ke apa ker, stick to your lane.

So people, drum back into your head what your driving teacher taught you before…

P/s-This entry was posted by the writer as to voice out and pointing out her view and stressing her point that still, driving a manual car is worthy than to jeopardizing others when you are driving an automatic one…yet, the writer will not be denying the fact that perhaps in a few years to come that she would be driving the automatic car. Still, she believes that the perfect driving lies in the attitude of that driver itself~ regardless of the type of car that you are driving~Don’t you think so?

**A gentle warning- for those who intend to watch the Indon movie~HEART~ better not read this one yet** but don’t say i didn’t warned you ek**

Di sini kau dan aku

Terbiasa bersama

Menjalani kasih sayang

Bahagiaku dengan mu

Pernahkah kau menguntai

Hari paling indah

Ku ukir nama kita berdua

Di sini surga kita

Bila kita mencintai yang lain

Mungkinkah hati ini akan tegar

Sebisa mungkin tak akan pernah

Sayang ku akan hilang

If we love somebody

Could we be this strong

I will fight to win

Our love will conquer all

I wouldn’t risk my love

Even just one night

Our love will stay in my heart

My heart…

Hmmm..upon hearing this song, the writer had already imagined what the storyline would be. In fact, one can predict the ending by seeing the vid clip. Yet, the writer feel excited to watch it with her dear friends and dearest one(thehehehe). So, that Sunday evening four of them –ruzanna–ghazaly–ilda–ilda’s friend( they managed to get substitute for Ekin-who had to cancel last minute to perform her duty as a responsible grandaughter~). Armed with a set of caramel pop corn ~yummylicoius :), they went inside to watch the movie…

…But sadly they left the cinema feeling uncontented as what they have watched was not worth for the money… And their rationale for that was ;the plot should have come stronger by applying the elements of plot. Well, for those who has taking literature perhaps remember that the PLOT consists;

  • Exposition-the information needed to understand a story.
  • Complication/Rising Action-the catalyst that begins the major conflict.
  • Climax/Conflict-the turning point in the story that occurs when characters try to resolve the complication.
  • Resolution-the set of events that bring the story to a close.

Relating it the story, "Heart" should applied this into its storyline by simply begin with (Exposition) the two friends enjoying having each other company from the day they were small until they become teenager (yes, the story did have this, yet…)…they played basketball every evening…but , guess that the (Complication/Rising Action )was too soon as they should elongate the meeting of Farel & Luna perhaps after Farel & Rachel had a big fight. That perhaps can drew more sympathy towards Rachel, aite? Though the scene where Rachel saw them kissing in front of Farel’s house that made Rachel run as fast as she could. Unfortunately, Rachel met with an accident that cost her to amputate her leg. now the conflict for her is that; how is she going tp play basketball ever again without her leg?,for the most important fact is that, how is she going to be with Farel for the time she be (most of the time) with him is through their evening basketball practice…hmmm the ending perhaps is the same that all people have in mind…of course the girl is willing to sacrifice for the one she love, rite…(memanglaa aku dah expect yang tomboy(Rachel) tuh akan sacrifice hati dia utk diberikan kepada girlfriend (Luna) bestfriendnya tuh (si farel), tapi kan….cerita ini not so much konflik yang boleh trigger orang untuk simpati pada Rachel dengan semaksima mungkin…kesimpulannya…AADC lg best…huhuhu)

It seeems that the writer rasa serik untuk watching any movies buat masa terdekat ini…Enough for wathing 3 movies -Click-Little Man-Heart- for this month.. Which of all that 3 movies, the writer feels that only Click managed to deliver some valueable message~ do not neglect your parents-don’t take things for granted-cherish them while they are still alive-salam sambil peluk cium parents kiter tau… now excuse the writer, she’s off to Sg. Buloh to meet her parents on and to hug them tightly, to kiss their soft cheeks and to thank them for everything that a daughter should thank for. **smoochhh…muah muahhhsss** **

erm..do enjoy the song though~If we love somebody…Could we be this strong…I will fight to win…Our love will conquer all…I wouldn’t risk my love…Even just one night…Our love will stay in my heart…

(~ hmmm…this is only the writer’s p.o.v, plus some shared opinions by some fellow friends. the readers are not obliged to follow as each and all of us should hold true to our opinion~yeehaaaa)

nana goes banana

June 27th, 2006 by moncicis

Something for my dearest emelia a.k.a emmy who loves banana very much~ and generally to all my friends…let’s snacking a healthier way! ~ go bananas!!!

Bananas… This is very interesting. After Reading THIS, you’ll NEVER look at a banana in the same way again.

Bananas~Containing three natural sugars - sucrose, fructose and glucose combined with fiber,a banana gives an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy.

Research has proven that just two bananas provide enough energy for a strenuous 90-minute workout. No wonder the banana is the number one fruit with the world’s leading athletes.

But energy isn’t the only way a banana can help us keep fit. It can also help overcome or prevent a substantial number of illnesses and conditions, making it a must to add to our daily diet.

Depression:According to a recent survey undertaken by MIND amongst people suffering from depression, many felt much better after eating a banana. This is because bananas contain tryptophan, a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin, known to make you relax, improve your mood and generally make you feel happier.

PMS: Forget the pills - eat a banana. The vitamin B6 it contains regulates blood glucose levels, which can affect your mood.

Anemia: High in iron, bananas can stimulate the production of haemoglobin in the blood and so helps in cases of anemia.

Blood Pressure:This unique tropical fruit is extremely high in potassium yet low in salt, making it the perfect to beat blood pressure. So much so, the US Food and Drug Administration has just allowed the banana industry to make official claims for the fruit’s ability to reduce the risk of blood pressure and stroke.

Brain Power: 200 students at aTwickenham (Middlesex) school were helped through their exams this year by eating bananas at breakfast, break, and lunch in a bid to boost their brain power. Research has shown that the potassium-packed fruit can assist learning by making pupils more alert.

Constipation: High in fiber, including bananas in the diet can help restore normal bowel action, helping to overcome the problem without resorting to laxatives.

Hangovers: One of the quickest ways of curing a hangover is to make a banana milkshake, sweetened with honey. The banana calms the stomach and, with the help of the honey, builds up depleted blood sugar levels, while the milk soothes and re-hydrates your system.

Heartburn:Bananas have a natural antacid effect in the body, so if you suffer from heartburn, try eating a banana for soothing relief.

Morning Sickness: Snacking on bananas between meals helps to keep blood sugar levels up and avoid morning sickness.

Mosquito bites:Before reaching for the insect bite cream, try rubbing the affected area with the inside of a banana skin. Many people find it amazingly successful at reducing swelling and irritation.

Nerves: Bananas are high in B vitamins that help calm the nervous system.

Overweight and at work?

Studies at the Institute of Psychology in Austria found pressure at work leads to gorging on comfort food like chocolate and crisps. Looking at 5,000 hospital patients, researchers found the most obese were more likely to be in high-pressure jobs. The report concluded that, to avoid panic-induced food cravings, we need to control our blood sugar levels by snacking on high carbohydrate foods every two hours to keep levels steady.

Ulcers:The banana is used as the dietary food against intestinal disorders because of its soft texture and smoothness. It is the only raw fruit that can be eaten without distress in over-chronicler cases. It also neutralizes over-acidity and reduces irritation by coating the lining of the stomach.

Temperature control: Many other cultures see bananas as a "cooling" fruit that can lower both the physical and emotional temperature of expectant mothers. In Thailand, for example, pregnant women eat bananas to ensure their baby is born with a cool temperature.

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD): Bananas can help SAD sufferers because they contain the natural mood enhancer tryptophan.

Smoking: Bananas can also help people trying to give up smoking. The B6, B12 they contain, as well as the potassium and magnesium found in them, help the body recover from the effects of nicotine withdrawal.

Stress: Potassium is a vital mineral, which helps normalize the heartbeat, sends oxygen to the brain and regulates your body’s water balance. When we are stressed, our metabolic rate rises, thereby reducing our potassium levels. These can be rebalanced with the help of a high- potassium

banana snack.

Strokes: According to research in "The New England Journal of Medicine, "eating bananas as part of a regular diet can cut the risk of death by strokes by as much as 40%!

Warts: Those keen on natural alternatives swear that if you want to kill off a wart, take a piece of banana skin and place it on the wart, with the yellow side out. Carefully hold the skin in place with a plaster or surgical tape!

So, a banana really is a natural remedy for many ills. When you compare it to an apple, it has four times the protein, twice the carbohydrate, three times the phosphorus, five times the vitamin A and iron, and  twice the other vitamins and minerals. It is also rich in potassium and is one of the best value foods around.

So maybe its time to change that well-known phrase so that we say, "A banana a day keeps the doctor away!"

PS :Bananas must be the reason monkeys are so happy all the time!

For him who knows my grumpy side better than I do

For the times he thought he made it

There are times that I retrieved

For the times that he made me feel special

There are times that I hate him so bad

For the times I always wonder

There are times I think ‘why bother’?

Should never judge a person on a first glance

For I really believe in second chance

Are our hearts in haste?

Would it be such a waste?

For him who knows my grumpy side better than I do

And that’s you.
